reScribe

These terms are an agreement between you and Picturesque Sales LLC ("we," "us," "our"), a Florida limited liability company, covering your use of the reScribe app.

By creating an account or using reScribe, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. You must be 18

You must be at least 18 years old to use reScribe. By using it, you confirm that you are.

2. Your account

You need an account to use reScribe. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access to it.

Provide a real email address you can receive mail at. If you mistype it, you may not be able to reset your password or recover your account.

3. Subscription, trial, and payment

reScribe is a paid subscription. An active subscription is required to use it.

Price. $12.99 per month, or $89.99 per year. Prices are in U.S. dollars and may differ in other regions based on Apple's pricing.

Free trial. New subscribers get a 7-day free trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, it converts automatically into a paid subscription and you will be charged.

Billing. All subscriptions are purchased and billed through your Apple App Store account. We do not process your payment or see your card details.

Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Your Apple account is charged within 24 hours of the period ending.

Cancelling. Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings — not in reScribe. We cannot cancel it for you. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not refund the current period.

Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies, not by us. Requests go to Apple.

Price changes. If we change the price, we will tell you before it takes effect, and you can cancel before being charged the new amount.

4. How much you can transcribe each month

Your subscription includes 30 hours of transcription per month. The allowance resets at the start of each billing period. You can see how much you have used in Settings, and we will let you know as you approach the limit.

If you reach the limit, you can keep recording. Your audio is still captured and still saved — nothing is lost. Transcription and summarization for anything beyond the allowance will wait until your allowance resets, at which point it proceeds automatically.

Thirty hours is far more than most people use. If you genuinely need more, email support@picturesquesales.com and we will work something out.

We may adjust the allowance in future. If we reduce it, we will notify you before the change takes effect and you may cancel before being charged again.

5. How long your recordings are kept

Audio files are kept for one year. Twelve months after a recording is created, we delete the audio.

Your transcript and summary are kept indefinitely. They are not deleted with the audio. You keep the full transcript, the summary, the key points, the action items, and everything else, and you can still search and export them. What you lose is the ability to play the recording back or to reprocess it.

If a recording matters to you long-term, keep your own copy. reScribe can export transcripts and summaries at any time, and you can save the audio to your device while it is still available.

6. AI-generated content is not guaranteed to be accurate

This is important. Please read it.

reScribe uses automated speech recognition and artificial intelligence to produce transcripts, summaries, key points, decisions, action items, speaker labels, and answers to questions. These are generated by machines and will sometimes be wrong.

Specifically, and not as an exhaustive list:

• Words may be transcribed incorrectly, including names, numbers, medications, dates, and amounts.
• Speech may be missed entirely. Quiet speakers, background noise, crosstalk, distance from the microphone, accents, and speech differences all reduce accuracy. Some spoken words may not appear in the transcript at all, with no indication that anything is missing.
• Speakers may be mislabeled. The app estimates who is speaking. It can attribute one person's words to another, merge two people into one label, or split one person into two.
• Summaries may state things that were not said. AI systems can produce plausible-sounding content that is not supported by the recording.
• Action items and decisions may be invented, omitted, or misattributed.
• Recording may be interrupted. If a phone call or another app takes your microphone, recording stops. The app attempts to resume and reports what it captured, but audio during an interruption is permanently lost.

Do not rely on reScribe's output as an accurate record without checking it against the recording. Do not rely on it for medical, legal, financial, employment, or any other consequential decision without verifying it yourself.

reScribe provides editing tools so you can correct the transcript, the speaker labels, and the summary. Using them is your responsibility.

reScribe is not a medical device, not a legal transcription service, and not a substitute for professional advice of any kind.

7. Recording other people is your responsibility

Laws governing the recording of conversations differ by state and country. In Florida and a number of other states, all parties must consent before a conversation can be recorded. Elsewhere, one party's consent is enough. Some settings — medical, legal, educational, workplace — carry additional rules.

You alone are responsible for:

• Knowing the law where you are and where the people you record are
• Obtaining any consent the law requires before recording
• Complying with any policy or agreement that limits recording, including workplace rules
• How you store, share, and use what you record

We do not monitor your recordings and cannot tell you whether a given recording is lawful. If you are unsure, consult a lawyer.

You agree to indemnify us against any claim arising from a recording you made — including claims by people you recorded.

8. Your content is yours

You keep all rights to your recordings, transcripts, and summaries. We do not claim ownership.

You grant us only the limited permission necessary to run the service: to store your content, to send it to our transcription and AI providers to be processed, and to display it back to you. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.

We do not use your recordings or transcripts to train AI models, and we have opted out of our providers doing so.

9. What you may not do

Do not use reScribe to:

• Record anyone unlawfully, or without consent where consent is required
• Record for the purpose of harassing, stalking, extorting, or intimidating anyone
• Violate anyone's privacy or intellectual property rights
• Upload audio you do not have the right to use
• Interfere with, overload, reverse-engineer, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service
• Resell or redistribute the service
• Break any applicable law

We may suspend or terminate your account if you do any of these.

10. Availability

We aim to keep reScribe working, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Features may change, and parts of the app depend on third-party services outside our control.

Keep your own copies of anything important. reScribe offers PDF and Markdown export. We are not a backup service, and we are not responsible for lost recordings, transcripts, or summaries.

11. Disclaimers

reScribe is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that transcripts or summaries will be accurate or complete, that recording will succeed in any given circumstance, or that the app will be free of errors.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost recordings, or business interruption — even if we were told such damages were possible.

Our total liability for any claim relating to reScribe will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations. Where that is so, these limits apply to the fullest extent permitted.

13. Ending your use

You may stop using reScribe at any time and delete your account in Settings. Deleting your account permanently deletes your content — see the Privacy Policy.

Cancelling your subscription is separate and must be done through your Apple ID settings.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, or if we discontinue the service. If we discontinue reScribe, we will give you reasonable notice and an opportunity to export your content.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will update the date at the top, and for material changes we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use reScribe after a change means you accept the updated terms.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you and we consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

16. Miscellaneous

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding reScribe.
