Privacy Policy
reScribe
Effective August 27, 2026
reScribe is operated by Picturesque Sales LLC ("we," "us," "our"), a Florida limited liability company. This policy explains what information reScribe collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and what control you have over it.
Questions about this policy: support@picturesquesales.com
1. Who can use reScribe
reScribe is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the app. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we hold information from someone under 18, we will delete it.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
- Your name and email address, provided when you create an account.
- Your password, which is handled by Google Firebase Authentication. We never see or store your password.
- Problem reports and support emails you choose to send us — what you write, plus the diagnostic log if you chose to attach one.
Recordings and content you create
- Audio recordings you make in the app, and audio files you import into it.
- Transcripts and summaries generated from that audio, including titles, key points, decisions, action items, speaker labels, and tags.
- Edits you make to any of the above.
- Scheduled meeting entries — the title, date, time, and reminder you set.
- Questions you ask about a meeting using the Ask feature, and the answers returned.
Information collected automatically
- Account and usage records necessary to operate the app, such as when a recording was created, its duration, and its processing status.
- Monthly transcription usage, so we can show you how much of your plan's allowance you have used.
- Diagnostic logs stored locally on your device to help troubleshoot recording problems. They leave your device only if you choose to attach one to a problem report.
What we do not collect
- We do not use third-party advertising or analytics services in the app.
- We do not collect your location.
- We do not access your contacts, photos, or calendar.
- We do not sell your information to anyone, ever.
3. Who your audio is shared with, and why
To turn your recordings into transcripts and summaries, reScribe sends your audio to one service provider (AssemblyAI, for transcription) and the resulting transcript to another (Anthropic, for summaries). Your audio itself goes to AssemblyAI only — Anthropic receives text, not audio. This is the core function of the app, and it happens only with your permission: the app asks before anything is sent, and you can withdraw that permission at any time in Settings. Without it you can still use the app and everything already in your account, but new recordings cannot be transcribed or summarized.
We have confirmed that both providers protect your information to the same or an equal standard as this policy describes, and both are contractually limited to processing your data only to provide these services to us — never for their own purposes.
AssemblyAI — transcription and speaker separation
- Your audio file is sent to AssemblyAI, which returns a transcript with speaker labels.
- AssemblyAI deletes uploaded audio automatically. Deletion begins within 24 hours and completes within 48 hours.
- We have set the shortest transcript retention period their service allows, and we additionally delete each transcript through their API as soon as it has been saved to your account.
- We have opted out of AssemblyAI using your data to train their models.
- We have a Business Associate Agreement in place with AssemblyAI.
- Processing occurs in the United States.
Anthropic (Claude) — summaries and the Ask feature
- Your transcript is sent to Anthropic's Claude model, through the Anthropic API, to produce the summary, key points, decisions, action items, tag suggestions, and answers to questions you ask.
- Anthropic does not use API customer data to train its models.
- Processing occurs in the United States.
Google Firebase — accounts, storage, and database
- Your account, recordings, transcripts, and settings are stored in our Firebase project, operated by Google Cloud.
We do not share your recordings, transcripts, or summaries with anyone else. We may disclose information if required by law, such as in response to a valid subpoena or court order.
4. Notifications and reminders
Meeting reminders and recording alerts are delivered by iOS on your device. They are not pushed from our servers.
The meeting title you enter when scheduling is stored in your account so your schedule is available on any device you sign in to. The reminder itself, once scheduled, lives only on your phone.
You can turn each type of notification off in Settings, or turn off notifications for reScribe entirely in iOS Settings.
5. Email from us
We will email you about your account when necessary — for example, a password reset you requested.
In the future we may send occasional emails about new features, updates, or offers. If we do, every such email will include a way to unsubscribe, and unsubscribing will not affect your account or your ability to use the app.
6. How long we keep things
Audio recordings are kept for one year. Twelve months after a recording is created, we delete the audio file. This keeps storage costs sustainable and limits how long sensitive recordings exist anywhere.
Your transcripts and summaries are kept indefinitely and are not deleted with the audio. After the audio is gone you still have the full transcript, the summary, the key points, the action items, and everything else, and you can still search and export them. What you lose is the ability to play the recording back or to reprocess it.
If a recording matters to you long-term, keep your own copy while the audio is still available.
Everything else:
- Transcripts, summaries, tags, and scheduled meetings stay until you delete them or delete your account.
- Your account information stays until you delete your account.
- Diagnostic logs live on your device, limited to the most recent recording sessions. They hold timings, file sizes, and technical events — never audio, transcripts, or titles. A log leaves your device only if you choose to attach it to a problem report you email us; we use it only to look into your report. Deleting the app deletes the logs on your device.
7. Deleting your account and your data
You can delete your account from within the app, in Settings. Doing so permanently deletes:
- Every recording, transcript, and summary in your account
- Every audio file stored for you
- Your scheduled meetings, tags, and settings
- Your saved questions and answers
- Your account itself
This cannot be undone. We do not keep a backup copy for you after deletion.
If you have trouble deleting your account in the app, email us and we will do it for you.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to object to how we use it. Residents of California, and of jurisdictions covered by the GDPR, have specific rights under those laws.
To make any such request, email support@picturesquesales.com. We will respond within the time your law requires. We will not charge you or treat you differently for exercising these rights.
9. Security
Your data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored in Google Cloud, encrypted at rest. Access to your recordings and transcripts is restricted to your own account by server-enforced rules; other users cannot read your data. Passwords must be at least 10 characters and are managed by Firebase Authentication, which we cannot read.
No system is perfectly secure. We cannot guarantee that your information will never be accessed improperly, and you use reScribe understanding that.
10. Your responsibility when recording others
reScribe records audio. Laws about recording conversations vary. In some places, including Florida, every person in a conversation must consent before it can be recorded. In others, only one person needs to.
You are responsible for knowing and following the law where you are and where the people you record are. We do not monitor what you record and cannot advise you on whether a particular recording is lawful.
11. Children
reScribe is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how your information is used, we will notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
